History
Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin (May 26, 1799, Moscow – January 29, 1837, St. Petersburg) was a Russian poet, dramatist and prose writer who created the foundations of Russian realism, literary critic and theorist, historian, journalist and one of the most influential figures in the literature of the first third of the 19th century. A.S. Pushkin lived in a time when oral fairy tales flourished. With his interest in folk art, he created a new literary genre: the fairy tale poem, in which there are fantastic heroes and mermaids, menacing kings and sorcerers, devils and Baba Yaga. Good is at the center of the fairy-tale beauty and always triumphs over evil.
