This is the extremely rare 1 Lilangeni Sobhuza II from South Africa made in 1979 to celebrate the King’s 80th birthday.
What makes this specimen very special is that it is certified by PCGS with the PR68 UCAM (Ultra Cameo) grade.
On one side of the coin is stamped the face value of the coin “1 Lilangeni” and the double year “1923-1979”. In addition, you can find a lion, an elephant and a shield as symbols. Under the sign is the word “Siyinqaba”.
On the other side of the coin you will find the portrait of Sobhuza II, the name as lettering, the double year 1899 and 1979 and the inscription “Kingdom of Swaziland”.
Only 1250 copies of this coin were produced, most of which must have been melted down. As of today, this issue is also the only one ever graded by the NGC.
