150th anniversary of Bank Russia (the Central Bank of the Russian Federation/Bank of Russia)

This 2010 edition was certified by PCGS with the highest grading PR70 Deep Cameo (DCAM), making it only one of two at PCGS.

In the center – the emblem of the Bank of Russia (double-headed eagle with wings down, below – the semicircular inscription Bank of Russia), framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the circle – above: “Fifty Rubles”. Below you can see information about the class of precious metal and alloy, on the left – date of issue 2010, on the right – fine metal content and the mark of the mint.

In the center – portrait of Alexander II in profile, on the perimeter along the edge – inscription: “The Bank of Russia was founded by decision of Alexander II in 1860”.

History

Today, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation (Bank of Russia) is a special Russian public-law institution and the most important bank in Russia. It is the country’s main issuing and monetary regulator, which develops and implements a unified state monetary policy in cooperation with the Government of the Russian Federation. Bank of Russia is vested with special powers, in particular the right to issue banknotes and regulate the activity of banks. The Central Bank of the Russian Federation is the main coordinating and regulatory body for the entire credit system of the country and acts as the economic management body.
