This is the very rare 500 Maloti 1 oz gold coin from the small state of Lesotho from 1980. This copy is limited to only 3000 copies worldwide and for this reason is particularly popular with collectors and enthusiasts around the world. This gold coin was issued in Lesotho for the 110th anniversary. Produced and issued for the 50th anniversary of the death of King Moshoeshoe I.
What makes this specimen very special is that it is certified by PCGS with the PR69DCAM (Deep Cameo) grade. As of today, there is no better and only one equally rated edition on PCGS. In addition, the coin was protected by PCGS through the “NFC anti-counterfeiting technology”.
The reverse of the gold coin features a hat with a diamond in the center, a corn kernel on the left and an alligator on the right. Also, this coin is inscribed with “Khotso Pula Nala”, “One Ounce Fine Gold”, the denomination “500 Maloti” and the mintage year “1980”.
On the obverse of the 500 Maloti Lesotho gold coin, the text “Kingdom of Lesotho” and “Moshoehoe I” can be clearly seen.
The coin is encapsulated.
