This is the Krugerrand 1997 Mint Mark “30TH ANNIVERSARY Mint Mark Edition” set in Proof/PP (Polished Plate) mint quality, consisting of 4 gold coins from 1 oz to 1/10 oz. The set completes a beautiful box and a numbered certificate from the SA Mint.

The special feature about this set is the certification by the NGC of the individual coins with the very high gradings of PF68-70 Ultra Cameo.

Front of the Krugerrand coins:

The obverse of the Krugerrand gold coin features the world-famous portrait of Paul Kruger, after whom the series of Krugerrand coins was named. Paul Kruger, then President of South Africa (1883 to 1902), founded the mint from which the South African Mint emerged. On the edge of the coin was stamped the country of issue in English and Afrikaans.

The reverse of the Krugerrand gold coin features a springbok motif with a stylized South African steppe landscape in the background. Likewise, the coin’s fine weight, fineness, and precious metal are shown on the obverse of the coin.
