Description

This is the 2008 Krugerrand Premium Deluxe Set in Proof/PP (Polished Plate) mint quality, consisting of 4 gold coins from 1 oz to 1/10 oz. In addition, this set also includes a sterling silver medal honoring South African National Parks.

The set is completed by a beautiful wooden box and the numbered certificate. The circulation for 2008 was 398 sets.

Front of the Krugerrand coins:

The obverse of the Krugerrand gold coin features the world-famous portrait of Paul Kruger, after whom the series of Krugerrand coins was named. Paul Kruger, then President of South Africa (1883 to 1902), founded the mint from which the South African Mint emerged. On the edge of the coin was stamped the country of issue in English and Afrikaans.

Back of the Krugerrand coins:

The reverse of the Krugerrand gold coin features a springbok motif with a stylized South African steppe landscape in the background. Likewise, the coin’s fine weight, fineness, and precious metal are shown on the obverse of the coin.
