Protea 1 oz 1992 PCGS PR70DCAM

This is the very rare 1992 Protea 1 oz gold coin from South Africa. This copy is limited to only 1752 copies worldwide and for this reason is particularly popular with collectors and enthusiasts around the world.

What makes this specimen very special is that it is certified by PCGS with the PR70DCAM (Deep Cameo) grade. It is the only edition in the world that has reached this level! As of today, there is no better or even equally rated 1992 edition on PCGS. In addition, the coin was protected by PCGS through the “NFC anti-counterfeiting technology”.

Front:
On the obverse of the gold coin, the plant “Protea” is clearly visible in the center. The plant genus Protea (sugar bushes) is one of the typical silver tree plants found in South Africa. Around the plant you can see the inscription “Suid – Africa”, “South Africa” and the year of mintage “1992”.

Back cover:
On the back around the motif, the inscription “1892 Soli Deo Gloria 1992”, “1 OZ Fyn Goud Protea 1 OZ Fine Gold” can be seen.
